Brenda Lynch serves as an educational consultant who is both innovative and compassionate about the pedagogical development of teachers who serve Emergent Bilinguals (EBs) in secondary schools. She knows how to mentor teachers to become extraordinary educators. As a mentor, she teaches how to maximize student engagement, conceptual understanding and achievement within a classroom as well as evaluate student linguistic skills and knowledge of the subject matter.
Mrs. Lynch earned both her Bachelor of Arts in Teaching and Masters in Secondary Education from Sam Houston State University. Her secondary education experience includes being a high school math teacher and department chair, Secondary Mathematics Specialist at Region 6 Education Service Center (ESC) and in New Caney ISD. Mrs. Lynch also serves as an adjunct professor at Sam Houston State University in the College of Teaching and Learning and at Lone Star College University Park.
While at the Region 6 ESC, in Huntsville, Mrs. Lynch trained many of the 66 school districts in Content-Based Instruction (CBI) Approach, presented a session at the TODOS: Mathematics for All conference, and helped teachers learn about the ELPS and their implementation in the classroom. While at New Caney ISD, Mrs. Lynch worked with Dr. Pascual Yacovodonato (Director of the Multilingual Department) to implement the CBI Approach at the secondary schools.
Brenda provides professional development for secondary teachers and instructional coaches at the national, state, region, collegiate, and district levels. Presently, Brenda is also serving as an adjunct consultant for Lead4ward, providing professional development that educates teachers and leaders in multiple ways to engage all students in the learning process.
Additionally, Mrs. Lynch helped coauthor the book, The Credit Manipulation Plan (The Onion Plan). She is an active member in the Association of Professional Educators (ATPE) and serves as treasurer of the Delta Kappa Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma.
